In 2010 KaBOOM! Toons is again offering class incursions throughout the new school year after another successful year in schools within Perth Metro and Regional WA areas. Jason also run an inhouse residency at Willeton Primary 2 days a week over 5 weeks

Jason’s teaching start with simple geometric shapes, creating a base to then build their own illustrations from. With basic tips and guidance even the most uncreative child can see their drawing skills improve and gain a sense of expression through the art form of cartooning and a confidence in their own abilities.

The response from the children and teachers has been fantastic, with several schools booking additional classes throughout the school year. Some teachers suggesting that it was a positive tool in the classroom, a skill to enjoy and was helpful in particular with improving the creative writing skills of older boys.

Last year Jason conducted classes on general drawing skills including expressions, bodies, caricatures, drawing animals and creating animation flip books. Specific classes on subjects in the school curriculum have included Insects, Recycling, Native Animals and Christmas. A subject your students are learning this semester may be complimented with illustrations that Jason can show the kids how to create.

When travelling outside the Metropolitan area a travel expense will be incured. If the booking is for more than a day, accomodation will also need to be arranged through the school. Jason spent a week in Leonora where all of these requirements were made by the school (including flights) but if several schools in a town/district book a time, these costs can be shared and consequently, minimised.
